Students are working on unit 8 on reviewing concepts that were learned this year. This week students will multiply three factors, work on problem solving, subtract related fractions, and add/subtract dollars and cents.

Science/ Social Studies:
Students will continue to work on the Smithsonian PBL. They are setting up the artifacts that they completed this year into a presentation.


Language Arts:
Students are finishing unit (8) on Earth changes. This week they will be working on: use text details and language to draw an inference; use my knowledge of variant vowel sounds to read words accurately; define and spell words with variant vowels; describe and identify relative adverbs; edit my informative report for the correct use of relative adverbs; compare and contrast information from two texts on the same topic; create a visually appealing title for my informative report; and include illustrations to help readers of my informative report

The math homework is an assignment on Think Central where students will log in and click on assignments. You will find this week's content we will be covering, important dates, and reminders below.

Math:
Students are working on unit 8 on reviewing concepts that were learned this year. This week students will find factors of multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000; adding fractions when one denominator is a multiple of another; writing division problems as fractions; and finding the product of three factors.


Science/ Social Studies:
Students will continue to work on the Smithsonian PBL. They are still working on the next "theme" on biogeology. This will entail learning about the economy of a region by researching important events that took place in the region and its natural resources, geography, and industries.


Language Arts:
Students are continuing unit (8) on Earth changes. This week they will be working on: use text evidence to explain how earthquakes and volcanoes are related; integrate information from two texts; correctly use relative adverbs; share information I have learned about Earth changes; identify features of firsthand accounts; explain how firsthand accounts are different from informational texts; read to identify and annotate key events; distinguish between important and unimportant information; use a variety of sentence beginnings to make my writing flow; recognize and use science vocabulary; compare and contrast information presented visually and in a text; identify details that relate to a visual presentation; use my knowledge of variant vowel sounds to read more words accurately; sort words according to their variant vowel spelling patterns; and edit my informative report for the correct use of modal auxiliaries.

We have moved back to social studies where students will continue to work on the Smithsonian PBL. They are still working on the next "theme" on biogeology.
