I apologize if you were looking for a post last Wednesday or Thursday. I was ill and not able to update it. Tonight's homework is pg.337 - 338 on generating equivalent fractions. - The end of the 2nd quarter was last Friday so students will be receiving their report card this Friday.
- Please check the 4th grade blog for updates and assistance in homework at www.gforceeagles.blogspot.com
- Our SMART goal this year is to increase multiplication fluency so that every student has mastered their multiplication facts. This week we will be targeting sixes. We will be monitoring their daily progress.
- Please encourage students to take reading counts tests as they complete their books throughout the year. Reading counts points are being calculated for neighborhood recognition.

Students are working on chapter 6 (6.2 - 6.5) on generating equivalent fractions, turning fractions into simplest form, making common denominators, and finding equivalent fractions using problem solving.
Science/ Social Studies:
We are going back to social studies to work on our Alien PBL project where students will be taking the research and turning it into a product to present to their peers.
Language Arts:
Their reading comprehension skill this week is finishing up cause and effect within reading passages and the leveled readers. The grammar skill is action and linking verbs and the rough draft on the personal narrative writing on nature is due on Friday.

Since we combined two lessons today, students have to complete two math worksheets on units of time and elapsed time. The page numbers are pg.689 and 695. There is a video below to assist in helping your child understand how to demonstrate units of time and convert elapsed time. I originally said on the G Force Gazette to complete pg. 645 and 646 but the review sheet on 646 would be difficult for students to complete since we didn't cover the concepts yet so they are not responsible for doing it tonight. We skipped to chapter 12 since our unit consists of division, measurements that include conversions using multiplication/division and perimeter and area. The following is a video on today's lesson, if needed.
