Parents,

Tonight's math homework is on adding and subtracting mixed numbers on pg.427 - 428 in their math book. The subtraction is very easy since they only need to subtract whole numbers and the numerators while keeping the denominator the same. The adding takes on another step in many cases when the fraction is a fraction greater than 1 or also called an improper fraction. The video below will help you assist your child, if needed. Below you will find this week's G Force Gazette.



Neighborhood News

  • This Tuesday and Wednesday the math homework will be on Think Central. We will continue to do this every Wednesday to help get students familiar with doing math on the computer in preparation for the PARCC testing later this year.

Educational Targets:
Math:
Students will be learning how to add and subtract mixed numbers and subtract mixed numbers using regrouping.

Science/ Social Studies:
We are finishing up magnetic fields and will also be working on magnetic force.

Language Arts:
Their reading comprehension skill this week is summarizing while reviewing graphic sources as we read leveled readers.. The grammar skill is still past, present, and future tense verbs and they will be finishing their rough draft to their fantasy writing.
