Parents,

We did not assign any math homework tonight or any night this week. We are working on unit 8 in math which is preparing students for the fifth grade. This will consist of problem solving tasks, reviewing concepts from this year, and introducing some concepts that they will see next year. This week's G Force Gazette is listed down below. Educational Targets:
Math:
Students will start unit 8 which are math concepts to prepare our students for fifth grade next year. This will consist of problem solving, review of some concepts learned this year, and touching on concepts they will learn next year.
Science/ Social Studies:
We are bouncing back to science where we will do activities on the unit called Soils, Rocks, and Landforms. They will identify types of soil and what is found in them, do an activity to understand how rocks break down, and complete an activity to understand how acid rain effects rocks.
Language Arts:
Groups will be finishing up their literature circle project of their choice on the book they read earlier. They will also be required to finish last week’s grammar skill on adverbs. The reading comprehension skill this week is still drawing conclusions. For writing, some students are finishing up the publishing of their poetry books while others are selecting a writing choice activity to work on that is due this Friday.
