Parents,

The homework tonight is pg.395 - 396 on decomposing fractions as they write fractions as sums. The video below will assist you, if needed. You will also find the G Force Gazette below, as well.


Neighborhood News
  • If you haven’t done so already, please sign the cover your child’s report card was in and return to their teacher.
  • Students may exchange Valentine’s Day cards with their classmates. Remember, due to the CES Wellness Plan, candy is NOT allowed.

  • Our SMART goal this year is to increase multiplication fluency so that every student has mastered their multiplication facts. This week we will be targeting nines. We will be monitoring their daily progress.

  • Math homework pg.395 and 396 to practice concepts learned in class
  • Read for at least 20 minutes
  • Practice your multiplication facts on 9’s
Tuesday:
  • Math homework pg.421 and 422 to practice concepts learned in class
  • Read for at least 20 minutes
  • Practice your multiplication facts on 9’s
Wednesday:
  • Math homework pg.377 - 382 to review concepts in preparation for the test
  • Read for at least 20 minutes
  • Practice your multiplication facts on 9’s
Thursday:
  • PARCC Practice Test
  • No homework pages.
  • Read for at least 20 minutes
  • Practice your multiplication facts on 9’s
Friday:
  • Test (all of chapter 6, and 7.1, 7.2, and 7.6)
  • Read for at least 20 minutes
  • Practice your multiplication facts on 9’s

Educational Targets:
Math:
Due to the two hour delay and the PARCC practice last week, we will be completing a few lessons that we intended on completing last week. We are going over 7.2, 7.6, review for the test on chapter 6 and a few lessons in chapter 7, another PARCC practice test, and the test. The two lessons this week are on writing fractions as sums and renaming fractions and mixed numbers.

Science/ Social Studies:
We are learning about government, specifically the branches, the levels, the constitution, Bill of Rights, and a few other concepts.

Language Arts:
Their reading comprehension skill this week is making generalizations  while we read leveled readers. The grammar skill is subject verb agreement and they will also be answering different writing prompts throughout the week.
